Antler Coat Rack

This customer found a great elk shed and was trying to figure out a great way to put it to use.  We brainstormed with them and came up with a life size hickory coat rack.  We glued up boards of hickory into a wide board and then traced the bust of an elk on to it.  Next we cut it out with a jib saw and then sanded everything smooth.  The elk antler was securely mounted and is carefully supported to ensure that coats hanging up will not cause it to fall or break.

This was a first for us. The client had the antler shed and wanted to do something with it. The challenge was coming up with a silhouette big enough for the antler. Very fun project.

Just out of curiosity what was it you found to be the most useful? I know it’s a great way to take what nature would otherwise discard and turn it in to something pretty neat. It was fun to do also and the customer loves it.

Don’t know anything about Google Chrome. RSS feed seems to work in Internet Explorer and Firefox. Sounds like a problem with Chrome.
